A wide range of activities can give us an aerobic workout. Walking, jogging, cycling, swimming and dancing are some effective, non- expensive and fun ways of getting an aerobic workout. It also includes playing basketball, cross-country skiing, jumping rope, roller-skating.
In addition to these activities, we can also get aerobic workouts by using stationary exercise machines such as cycles, treadmills, stair-steppers and rowing machines. These machines can be found at local gyms or health clubs or they can also be used at home.
Normally in an aerobics class the floor is covered with a soft mat on which the various exercises are done. Sometimes even individual mats are used.
Hygiene is a very important part of aerobics. The shoes worn for an aerobics class should not be worn anywhere else. Otherwise the flooring gets dirty and contaminated and this may cause infections. Hence good , clean flooring is a very important part of aerobics.
